- The portfolio of the department library – monographs as well as journals – can be researched in bonnus, the university’s research portal. Using the search filter „University Bonn – Empirische Kulturwissenschaft und Kulturanthropologie“ the search can be limited to titles in the library’s portfolio.

- Books and journal articles that are not part of the university library’s inventory can be ordered via an interlibrary loan.
The reference library is open to all user groups (university affiliates, visitors) during open hours. All media can be used in the library. A book scanner is available. There is also a photocopier in the building’s ground floor. A mensa card is required for making photocopies.
For enrolled students at the university of Bonn we offer the service of a weekend loan. The books can be checked out Thursdays from 12 pm onwards. The books‘ return takes place on Mondays from 12 pm onwards. Journals are exempt from loans and cannot be checked out.
Library tours are usually offerred at the start of each semester.

The departmental library is a reference library with around 12500 monographs and 2300 journal volumes. The portfolio is systematically set up and openly accessible.
The foci of the collection at the library of the Department of Cultural Analysis and Cultural Anthropology mirror the current research areas of the department. They also include works of general Cultural Anthropology, European Ethnology and folklore.

The Department of Cultural Analysis and Cultural Anthropology posesses parts of the original materials from the Atlas of German Folklore (ADV), one of the largest research projects in the humanities of the 20th century. Furthermore, the department holds archival materials of the Rhineland survey (Rheinischer Fragebogen), photograph collections and bequests.
