Studying & internship abroad

Further programmes
In addition to Erasmus partnerships, the University of Bonn maintains relationships with partner universities worldwide in order to offer its students a wide range of opportunities to study abroad. Through the Global Exchange Programme, for example, students of cultural anthropology can also study in Asia, North America, Africa, Israel and Latin America. The university also supports free movers - studying abroad on your own initiative. You can find the most important information here.
Global Exchange
With the Global Exchange Programme, you can study at a non-European partner university of the University of Bonn for one to two semesters free of tuition fees. Applications for this exchange programme are open to students of all disciplines from the 2nd Bachelor's semester and in the Master's programme.
The Department of International Affairs is responsible for the administration of the Global Exchange Programme and supports you with the application at the partner university as well as the further organisational preparation of your stay.
You should contact the departmental coordinator in good time to clarify the course of study, credit transfer options, etc.
Free Mover / PROMOS
If you would like to spend a semester or year abroad at a university abroad during your studies at the University of Bonn, you can apply there independently as a so-called "free mover".
In contrast to participation in exchange programmes, as a free mover you must pay the tuition fees at the partner university yourself. It is therefore important to think about possible funding early on.
