We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the upcoming workshop "Heterarchies and Power Dynamics in Post-Roman Europe (4th–10th century AD)", taking place at the University of Bonn from November 5–7, 2025.

This workshop seeks to explore the interplay between vertical and horizontal social structures in post-Roman societies, investigating how power was negotiated, challenged, and reconfigured across political, economic, and cultural spheres.

We welcome 300-word abstracts for 20-minute presentations, along with a short bio (max. 100 words). Submissions should be sent to heterarchies@uni-bonn.de by May 4, 2025. Accepted participants will be notified by May 31, 2025. Accommodation in Bonn (2 nights) will be provided.
