The Global Heritage Lab is an international research hub for critical museum and global heritage studies and aninnovative teaching and exhibition space. It fosters transcultural and transdisciplinary experimentation andprovides impulses for rethinking museums and understanding cultural heritage against the background of globaleconomic, ecological, cultural and political challenges. In particular, it engages with historically marginalisedbodies of knowledge and forms of cultural expression. The Global Heritage Lab is supported by theTransdisciplinary Research Area Present Pasts, which is dedicated to researching the connections betweencurrent challenges and processes and negotiations of comparable phenomena in the past from transdisciplinaryperspectives.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supervision in the exhibitions of the Global Heritage Lab
- Assistance with setting up and dismantling exhibitions in the Global
Heritage Lab - Support in the conception, organisation and implementation of
accompanying programmes for the Global Heritage Lab exhibitions - Support in the conception, organisation and implementation of events
at the Global Heritage Lab - Support in hosting international guests
Your profile:
- Studies in a field of social sciences or humanities, primarily in cultural
and social anthropology, history, art history or related subjects - Professional command of written and spoken German and English
- Experience in museums and exhibitions (desirable)
- Experience as a research assistant (desirable)
- Interest in transcultural issues
- Committed, flexible and team-orientated
