(De-)Monumentalization and Transformations

The starting point of the conference is new research focusing on aspects of monumentalization, demonumentalization and transformation in Etrusco-Italic Sanctuaries. These categories form a methodological framework that is suitable for better understanding the different manifestations of sanctuaries and cults with an innovative and detail-focused view.
The case studies presented in the conference deal with sanctuaries from Etruria, Latium Umbria, Samnium and Campania and cover a chronological range from the 7th century BC until Roman times.
